Frequently asked questions
When does Cortina d'Ampezzo open in 2026-2027?
The lift consortium announces that the lifts will open from 28 November 2026. Closing is staged after Easter; Faloria sometimes stays open until early May.
How much does a lift pass cost in Cortina?
For 2026-2027, the one-day Cortina pass costs €76 at the low rate and €84 in high season, €378 for 6 days in January (list price, cheaper online a few days ahead). The Dolomiti Superski is €80 or €89 a day and €407 for 6 days in January.
Can you get to Cortina without a car?
Yes, but the nearest station is Calalzo di Cadore, 35 km away, from where a Dolomiti Bus reaches Cortina. Cortina Express also links the town to the Venice and Treviso airports. On site, ski bus lines link the centre, the car parks and the lifts.
Is Cortina suitable for beginners?
Yes, with caveats: Col Gallina, Falzarego and Averau are rated easy, and Baby Socrepes and the Socrepes-Pocol zone are good for learning. The ski area is, however, best known for its intermediate runs and its 13 black runs.
Should you buy the Cortina pass or the Dolomiti Superski?
The Cortina pass covers 120 km around Cortina, San Vito di Cadore and Auronzo-Misurina. The Dolomiti Superski opens up 1,200 km, including Alta Badia and the Sellaronda, for about €29 more over 6 days in January.
What do you need to ski in Italy?
A helmet is compulsory for everyone on the slopes, whatever the age, and third-party liability insurance is required. It is not included in the lift pass but can be bought for a single day.
