What comes back every year, and when. One of these events fills the hotels and pushes prices up: something to aim for or to avoid, depending on what you want.
The quays fill with tasting pavilions for four days in June, every other year, with tall ships moored opposite.
Twice a year, in June and then in September, the red-robed brotherhood parades and proclaims its judgement of the wine from the King's Tower.
In early September, runners in fancy dress pass through the châteaux of the Médoc around Pauillac, with wine and oyster refreshment stops.
From September to early October, the vineyards of the Médoc and Saint-Émilion are busy, and the châteaux cut back their visits.
