Frequently asked questions

When does Courmayeur open?

The ski area opens on Saturday 28 November 2026 and closes on 11 April 2027. Lifts run from 8:45 to 5pm on weekdays, from 8:25 at weekends and during holidays.

How much is a lift pass in Courmayeur?

At the ticket office, a day costs €75 for an adult and €53 for a child aged 8 to 15; €90 with Skyway Monte Bianco. Six days cost €396 (€406 for the whole Aosta Valley). Online, prices vary and drop if you buy early.

Do children ski for free?

Yes, under 8 (born after 31 October 2018), if an adult, young person or senior buys the same pass at the same time. Otherwise a day costs €19.

Is Courmayeur good for beginners?

To start out, there are the Tzaly and Chiecco drag lifts, at the top of the Maison Vieille gondola, and the Prato magic carpet in Val Veny. The pedestrian and beginner ticket (€22 for an adult) includes the cabin ride up and down and access to these drag lifts or this carpet. The ski area has 11 blue runs out of 33, no green runs, and mostly reds (17).

Can you get to Courmayeur without a car?

There is no station in Courmayeur: the train goes to Aosta, then an Arriva bus climbs to the village. Buses also link Courmayeur to Chamonix through the tunnel and to Milan Malpensa airport.

Can you ski the Vallée Blanche from Courmayeur?

Yes, from Punta Helbronner (3,466 m), at the top of the Skyway Monte Bianco. It is a glacier off-piste route of more than 20 km to Chamonix, always to be done with a high-mountain guide.
